Continuing the Drummond Poetry tradition in 2007, the Cobalt Public Library held a centenary Drummond Day Commemoration in memory of the 100th anniversary of Dr Drummond's death in 1907.

This year's contest will have the anthology launched at the Spring Pulse Poetry Festival to be held in Cobalt, ON the weekend of April 3-6, 2008. (more to come)


Dr. William Henry Drummond (1854–1907) was "Canada's First National Poet" as well as doctor in the Cobalt area, and a silver mine owner. Included in many anthologies through the years including: The New Oxford Book of Canadian Verse (1982).
