The festival has iniated a new cultural tourism experience and opportunity for Temiskaming.

Before coming to Cobalt Dr. Drummond was considered Canada's first national poet. Internationally he was a renowned literary superstar. William Henry Dummond became an early pioneer in the frontier days of the mining camp.He served for a year as the towns first doctor, was vice-president of Drummond Silver Mine, and wrote poetry of life in the north.

We come together to honour our historic heroes and support with great pride our emerging poets.

We acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts and the League of Canadian Poets. Many thanks to our major sponsors listed here.

Many activities are planned to continue to keep Drummond's legacy alive and build a vibrant local poetry community.

We are very interested in discussing your support with a representative of your organization. I would like to set up a time to share more details and explore a creative partnership in this exciting venture.
