"Cobalt, Then, Now and Forever"
(written for 90th anniversary of Miners’ Fest)
Ninety years of mining lore
To some would come to be a bore
But, to all our true and blue
We’re proud to see how our town grew
When our great town first began
It didn’t start with a great plan
With houses built, a road they’d blaze
Making Cobalt, quite a maze
The people came from all around
To dig their holes into our ground
Into our silver soil they’d tap
And we were put right on the map
Then, Harold Ribson, years ago
Brought to life, the greatest show
It would grow to be the best
Our famous Cobalt Miner’s Fest
And so, a committee came to be
And they would work tirelessly
To form events, dances and more
To make us all get out and roar
Committee, council and townsfolk too
Have proven to be quite a crew
And for over twenty years running
Our Fest continues to be stunning
Cobalt, the best ole town we know
Its spirit continues to grow and grow
Cobalt, its town and Miners’ Fest
Will never cease to be “the best”

Poem of the Month ~Archive
“First Bike Ride”
What a mixture of emotion and motion!
Try once, try twice;
Oh, I get the balance.
Here I come; second to none!
“The Moon”
Listen to the trees
Silhouetting the sky
A full moon
“The Spring”
Smell the rain
Outside calling
Kiss the Crocus
Spirit of spring
“A Story of Time”
Spring Blossoms
Summer song
Autumn leaves
Winter long
Time to grow
Wait for change
Young and old
Hide and seek
Happy memories to be held!
