Poem of the Month ~Archive

Feeling Autumn

It blows through you, sends a chill up your back

It's a nice feeling going through your body

It's an autumn wind

You can smell the fresh air, and hear the crows cawing

You can see leaves falling onto the ground

It's autumn time

It's the fall fair, all fun and rides

It's Halloween, watch kids run around

These are autumn events

Now I know why all people like autumn.

As He Slips Away

I held him in my arms so tight

Through the darkness and fury of the night

I pushed a lock of hair into place

I knew that he would not win this race

All the three months he had been my friend

The long journey had finally come to an end

As I brush my tears away

I remember those special days

We would walk through the fields

I held your reins, our friendship sealed

From sunrise till sunset

We knew that both of us would not forget

All day and all night

We would walk on without a single fight

As he took his final breath

I knew that meant he had an easy death

As I shut my eyelids tight

He disappeared into the stormy night

I saw his soul gallop off happy and content

As I whispered in his ear, "Goodbye my friend."

My Garden

My garden my, how it's growing so much

Red tulips red blossoms and such

It's Fall now, they start to die

Goodbye now, red blossoms and I

Shadow

Your best friend

Though you might

Not know

He follows you, copies you

He's with you through and through

Never leaves your sight

until the dead of night

I don't know why

People lie

I don't know why if you die

YOU'RE IN THE VALLEY

OF SHADOWS

A shadow is your best friend!!

Jack Frost

During the night

While we're asleep

Over the treetops

He silently creeps

Orange and red

Splashes of gold

Pretty fall colours

Begin to unfold
